May 11: Introduction to Off-flavors @11 am

This is a hands-on tasting course led by our head brewer, Lance Chavez and our sales director and Certified Cicerone, Neal Ryan. In this class you’ll learn to identify 6 common off-flavors in beer. Off-flavors covered will be DMS, Diacetyl, Isovaleric Acid, H2S, Trans-2, and Infection. We’ll go over identifying, trouble-shooting and preventing these off flavors. This will be followed by a brewery tour, Q&A and of course, beer! This class is useful for homebrewers and beer judges as well as people working in the brewing industry, those studying for the BJCP/Cicerone certification exams or even for those just wanting to expand their craft beer knowledge. All levels of knowledge are welcome! Tickets – $25 (includes a beer and light snacks) You must be of legal drinking age to attend. Class will begin at 11:00am and last approximately 1-1.5 hours.
