Head Brewer’s Update: Syringa Pale Ale

Tap-Syringa Pale Ale
This month’s offering for the community supported beer program is the Syringa Pale Ale. We recently had some Idaho 7 hop’s made available to us from our local hop grower and wanted to feature them in a brew. This hop forward but well balanced brew has a strong aroma of citrus fruits, mango and pear. The flavor follows through with mango and citrus on the tongue and a pleasant hop bite. A nice dry finish awaits with no lingering bitterness. A nice example of a classic pale ale featuring northwest style hops. The specs on this beer come in at 5.5 % ABV and 55 IBU’s.
I hope you enjoyed the Capricorn Bock last month and I am really pleased with how the Syringa Pale turned out. I am working on an easy drinking Cream Ale for next month and have plans for an Imperial Red Ale and a Black IPA in the next couple of months.
There have been a bunch of inquiries into when the Red Velvet will come back and I wish I had an answer, however it all depends on if we have a break in production soon that allows us to fit it in. I will keep you all posted. We are getting off on the right foot this year so far and I appreciate all of your support, Cheers to you!

Ps. Come try out the Syringa this Thursday at First Thirstday here in the tasting room! We’ll be tapping into a special firkin of Syringa dry hopped with Simcoe & Idaho 7 hops at 5pm! Cheers!

February’s “Community Supported Artist:” Tonya Bloedel

We are so excited to bring Tonya on as our artist for the Syringa Pale Ale tap handle. She works as a graphic designer for the Idaho Lottery and pursues art as a passion. Her showcase upstairs in the mezzanine this month is actually the first time she has done an art show. Her main mediums are stained wood and colored pencil. We have had so much fun working with Tonya on this tap handle and cannot wait to see what her bright art future has in store!
Tonya will have works for show and sale upstairs all month this month and we highly recommend getting in here soon as her incredible works will probably be bought up quickly. A limited run of Syringa Pale Ale posters will also be avaliable for purchase this month.
