Location?

Cross your fingers and toes – we *may* finally have a location. We’ve agreed to most of the terms and are waiting to receive a lease from the landlords. Provided there is no devil in the legal details, Bogus will finally have a home. And I’m sure my fiancé, Rachel will be excited to have cars – rather than FrankenBrew – in the garage. I’m sorry to tease you with a cool update and not tell you where it is. But let me tell you, it is far and away the best building and location that we’ve seen in our five-month real estate search.

So, provided that the lease works out, what’s next? We can finally start doing the heavy lifting. One of the really critical pieces, is making a down payment on our brewing equipment. Because everybody and their dog is opening a brewery right now (a whopping 1,303 are currently in planning in the US), manufacturers are pretty backed up. Lead times right now are around six months.

We can also start the licensing process. There are about 15 different hoops to jump through, from the Feds on down to the City. But hey, at least we can start working on them, now that we (hopefully) have a lease. So hold your breath along with us and I’ll let you know as soon as there is some ink drying on a dotted line!
