Demolition Begins

Last week, we started to tear into our building, getting it ready to become the Bogus Brewery. Gone is the old stage from The Venue and gone is the snack bar. And I must say, after so much time planning, designing and generally sitting behind a desk, there was something very satisfying in beating the crap out of something with a sledge hammer. There were also some wicked karate kicks that shattered walls. Well, okay, just dented.

We had a great crew of volunteers, including family, owners and kickstarter backers and forced into long hours of unpaid labor. Despite the wages, everyone had a good time, even when we discovered that whoever built that stage decided it would be a good idea to nail, screw and glue it together. We tried to keep as much stuff as intact as possible so we could donate it to Second Chance building supply, but there was not much left of that stage except sawdust and bent nails.
