Brewing Equipment Ordered

Brewing equipment is on the way! After a thorough analysis on a couple of different manufacturers, we went with DME from Prince Edward Island, Canada. Delivery is set for the beginning of February. That’s a long time, we know, but they were actually about two months quicker than most other companies we talked to. We’ve got a 15 barrel brewhouse with an over-sized mash tun so that we’ll be able to make some of those bigger beers. That will keep us right on track for a March/April opening day.

Hops Hops Hops!

We’ve also got 1,000 pounds of hops heading our way later this year. They’re coming from a variety of different places and farmers. Quite a few are local, as we’ve contracted with Alpha Hops and Gooding Farms, both out of Parma. We can’t wait to smell this delivery.

Stock Certificates Delivered

Last week, we sent out stock certificates to all our community owners. All 143 of them. We are really excited that the community responded so strongly to the idea. It did mean, however, that there was about 15 hours of stuffing envelopes and one full hour of signing pages. I’m considering filing some workman’s comp against myself after that…

Bid on Building Design/Cost

And finally, the building layout is pretty well finalized. The pit of foam balls, slide from the second story and tiger cage were early victims of the design process, unfortunately. On the plus side, we do actually have a lot of space for beer. Just look at all those fermenters in there! We won’t be starting out with quite that many, but if you guys like our beer enough, we will be full before long!Layout

It sounds like Trout Architects should be able to submit for building permits soon. Construction is set to begin in mid-November and continue through December. I can’t wait to start in on our space and making it into Bogus Brewing!

Cheers,

Collin
